Description (Service) Community organization that provides juristic information and basic legal services for street-involved or homeless people
  • challenge the application of laws that are unjust to an already vulnerable segment of the population
  • representation before the provincial courthouse
TDP can help with tickets for:
  • aggressive panhandling
  • soliciting near a motor vehicle
  • public intoxication or having open alcohol
  • jaywalking
  • walking down a highway
  • littering
  • illegal camping
  • noise
  • failure to show proof of payment
  • not registering a pet
  • smoking regulations

Accepts two categories of tickets: tickets issued under the Safe Streets Act (SSA) that target people living on the streets. and tickets related to Property Regulations, "jaywalking" tickets under City of Ottawa Bylaws, and "liquor infractions" under the Liquor License Act.

  • 2nd and 4th Friday Friday of the month 1:30 pm-2:30 pm at Sandy Hill Community Health Centre, 221 Nelson St
  • 1st and 3rd Friday of the month 11 am-1 pm at Odawa Native Friendship Centre, 510 Rideau St
  • 2nd Friday of the month 12:30-1:30 pm at Centre communautaire Vanier, 590 Dupuis St
