Description (Service) Psycho-educational program for any adolescent at risk
  • supports prevention and early intervention
  • substance abuse and related mental health issues
  • seeks to increase the ability of at-risk adolescents to implement healthy decision making skills
  • based on voluntary participation of adolescents
Adolescent program curriculum and parent program curriculum :
  • preventative parenting group offered through participating schools
  • operated in collaboration with local school boards and the Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders Program of the Royal Ottawa Hospital

Eligibility
  • adolescents 12-18 years old
  • who are at risk or who may have begun to experience school, social, family, or legal problems related to substance abuse or other related mental health issues
  • the adolescent must be attending a school where the program is being offered
  • written consent of parent/guardian to participate required
