21 Feb 2024: The SHCHC continues to offer most of their services over the phone. Please call before going on site.

Supports and services that help individuals apply for important documentation, reduce isolation, and provide opportunities to build capacity and leadership to build stronger communities

Services include:

  • food programs which provide access to affordable foods groups and programs (market mobile or emergency food cupboard and others see separate program)
  • walk-in social services support: meeting immediate needs such as laundry vouchers, clothing voucher, low-cost voicemail, baby cupboard
  • advocacy, navigation and referral to community services
  • arts and recreation for community development and engagement
  • crisis intervention and emotional support
  • youth programs
  • health card assistance / ID clinic: help applying for OHIP cards, birth certificates, SIN cards, replacement citizenship cards. Also offers an ID safekeeping service where clients can store their ID in a secure area
