Description (Service) Officer of the Provincial Legislative Assembly, independent from government and political parties 
Confidential investigation of public complaints about Ontario Government services that could not be resolved through regular complaints procedures including provincial ministries, Crown corporations, tribunals, agencies, boards and commissions, Ontario universities and school boards, municipalities (excluding matters covered by the Office of the Ombudsman, City of Toronto -- see separate entry) * cannot deal with matters regarding the federal government, courts, politicians, hospitals, long-term care homes or the private sector.
