Description (Service) | Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) individual and group support * community education * risk reduction education * treatment information * liaison with organizations and health care professionals The Living Room drop-in centre: complementary therapies * hot meals * laundry facilities * clothing * supplementary grocery program * legal clinic Prison outreach and community prevention outreach services: operates needle exchange and crack pipe distribution program in partnership with Ottawa Public Health Support Groups: ongoing facilitated discussions about HIV/AIDS Health Promotion: risk reduction education * treatment information * information on HIV/AIDS related issues * professional and community referrals Legal help: available to people living with HIV or AIDS, especially people who are experiencing or have experienced discrimination * all services offered are private and confidential Speakers Bureau: trained volunteers offer presentations to schools, community organizations, and businesses on various HIV/AIDS issues Community Education: staff and volunteers liaise with other community organizations and health care professionals |
